Post Office Modernization Under Jan Sewa Connect
The modernization of these Post Offices is being undertaken under the Jan Sewa Connect initiative. The objective is to transform Post Offices into more modern and welcoming public service centres while retaining their important role in providing postal and citizen-centric services.
A total of 40 Post Offices are being modernized under the initiative in accordance with the Design Manual prepared by the School of Planning and Architecture (SPA), New Delhi.
The design approach focuses on creating better public spaces and improving the overall experience of citizens visiting Post Offices.
27 Post Offices Already Completed
The modernization programme has made significant progress. Out of the targeted 40 Post Offices, 27 Post Offices have been completed so far.
Before the latest inauguration, 4 Post Offices had already been inaugurated earlier. With the inauguration of the latest 14 renovated Post Offices, the modernization programme has reached another major milestone.
The initiative reflects the Department of Posts' efforts to upgrade its physical infrastructure and adapt Post Offices to the changing expectations of citizens.
Focus on Better Citizen Experience
Post Offices continue to play an important role in connecting citizens with a wide range of postal, financial and government-related services. Modernizing their buildings and facilities can help create a more comfortable and efficient environment for both customers and employees.
The Jan Sewa Connect initiative is therefore an important part of the ongoing transformation of India Post, combining the extensive reach of the postal network with improved infrastructure and a more modern service environment.
